Vietnam War
The Vietnam war was a horrific war. The war started when the country leader Ho Chi Minh introduced communism to the country. Some people took communism into full stride and others hated it. This led to America stepping in and helping the south fight against the North. The North being Communist's. Ngo Dinh Diem was the leader of the south and he enforced western customs. Capitalist, etc. The country was divided at the 17th parallel. The vietcong fought the war against the American troops. The vietcong was a very successful, very tricky, guerrilla war force. After years of fighting the Americans pulled out of Vietnam due to media back at home showing the reality of war. America was starting to divide on the subject of war while American soldiers were fighting it. Only two years after the U.S troops were withdrawn from the country, Vietnam fell to communism. This war is one that we really couldn't get much of a handle on. The Vietcong were too tricky and much too dangerous.
